How-to Use a Jig to Set Log Footrests
When you make log furniture you will inevitably run into tricky situations where you could use a little help. Such is the case when making Log Bar Stools, Log Bar Chairs and other types of Log Bar Seating where you want to use a crocked log for a footrest.
So just what’s a guy to do for crooked log footrests? Make a simple jig, it’s just as easy as that!

How-to Use A Jig To Set Log Footrests
This jig allows the user a way to easily hold crooked and uneven limbs in a uniform manner, positioning them securely as they are pre-drilled for installation on the bar chair or stool.
If you don’t have a means to properly hold the piece of wood in one position while drilling the holes, you won’t be able to properly fasten them to the metal framework. This jig is a quick and easy way to go!
This V-shaped jig is made from 4″ x 4″ wooden block cut approximately 18″ long. The V was created by running the block through a table saw set to a 30 degree bevel. This wooden jig is a good solution for both hold and drilling log footrests.
